Support services for students
If you’re looking for the right point of contact, you’ll find a list here:
For example, the university provides points of contact for cases of sexual harassment, discrimination, or for students with children, chronic illnesses or disabilities.
In addition, the Studierendenwerk offers psychological counselling, financial advice and legal advice.
The universities’ websites can also be helpful:
There are a wide range of services available for students with children, such as free emergency childcare and a mother-and-child room. Information on this can be found on the “Studying and Family” page.
Students with chronic illnesses or disabilities should definitely contact the university’s representative. You do not have to be in a wheelchair to receive support from the university. Conditions such as rheumatism, dyslexia and other illnesses that are not visible to others are also grounds for special arrangements during your studies. This could include, for example, a slightly extended examination time. Information on this can be found here: Studying with a disability or chronic illness.
