Learning spaces

Exam time is approaching and you’re looking for study spaces at the university? Below you’ll find most of the ones located on the Vaihingen campus. Please remember not to reserve tables and only to use them when you actually need them. Please leave them clean so that the next person finds them in a tidy condition. In some study rooms, talking is allowed, whilst in others, quiet is preferred. You’ll soon find out which room suits your learning style best – or whether you’d prefer to study at home.

Maschinenraum

in PWR 9.0.267 – our very own study room!

Aquarium

on the ground floor at Pfaffenwaldring 47. With glass walls on all sides, the room certainly lives up to its name, and there’s plenty of light here! Facilities: Printer, some power sockets.

Study room in the Haus der Studierenden (HdS)

at Pfaffenwaldring 5c. This is the university’s newest study room, and you can access it at any time via the 24-hour entrance using your student ID card (ECUS). Facilities: printer, power sockets

Vaihingen Library

at Pfaffenwaldring 55, on the ground floor and first floor. The rule is: the early bird catches the worm when it comes to securing a place. Facilities: power sockets, book scanner, lockers

Universum

at Pfaffenwaldring 45, in the attic. Did you know that this room used to be a club? Facilities: Printer, some power sockets, microwave, coffee, drinks and snack vending machines.

Cafeteria Denkpause

at Pfaffenwaldring 45, on the 1st floor. Good for group work outside lunchtime, as it gets very busy then. Facilities: Some power sockets, microwave, coffee machine, drinks, snacks.

Urknall Cafeteria

At Pfaffenwaldring 56, on the 1st floor. Suitable for small groups, but very busy during break times. Facilities: coffee machine, drinks, snacks

Learning Centre

In the libraries on the 2nd floor If you want a seat here, you’ll need to be quick, as it’s very modern. Facilities: power sockets, whiteboards, lockers.

Contrast Cafeteria

at Pfaffenwaldring 7 on the ground floor. If you’re coming from the ‘9’ building and turn left after the ticket office, you’ll come to the hidden study room. When the weather’s nice, there’s also an outdoor area for studying. Facilities: Some power sockets, coffee machine, drinks, snacks.
