Culture in Stuttgart

Theatre

The state theatres: ballet, opera, concerts and drama. At the box office (around 30 minutes before the performance starts), remaining tickets are sold at reduced prices (around €7–10). You might even manage to get a seat right in the middle of the second row.

There are also plenty of smaller theatres in Stuttgart.

If you love musicals, you should definitely pop along to the SI-Centrum.

Cinemas and films

As well as CinemaxX, the UFA-Palast and the city centre cinemas, there are also a few smaller cinemas. If you’d like to watch films in their original language, the Corso in Vaihingen is worth a visit.

Museums

In Stuttgart, there’s a museum to suit almost every taste. For tech enthusiasts, the Porsche Museum and the Mercedes-Benz Museum are well worth a visit. In the natural history museums, you can learn lots of new and fascinating things about our environment. Other options include the Linden Museum, the Württemberg State Museum in the Old Palace, and the Haus der Geschichte.

The Wilhelma

The Wilhelma is Stuttgart’s zoological and botanical garden. As well as many animals, you can also admire a vast variety of plants here.
