Sport(En)

Sport is a great way to balance out your studies; here are a few options for you.

Jogging / Cycling

You don’t need much to go for a jog: good trainers, sportswear and a suitable route. From the university, for example, you can jog through the Pfaffenwald to the Bärenseen, Solitude Palace or the Birkenkopf. The O-Phase includes a freshers’ jog, where you can meet other running enthusiasts.

The forest paths in the Pfaffenwald are also well suited for cycling.

University Sports

The range of activities offered by University Sports extends from aerobics to football and core workouts right through to Ultimate Frisbee. As a general rule: register in good time! Otherwise, it’s often possible to try a session out – it’s best to email the organisers beforehand.

Allmandring is home to a large sports complex where many of the university sports events take place. Thanks to the FG Info for the photo.

Bouldering / Climbing

There’s no shortage of climbing walls and high ropes courses in Stuttgart. VELS, Climbmax, Cityrock and the DAV Climbing Centre in Waldau are all easily accessible by public transport from the city centre. The Roccadion in Sindelfingen is also not far from the S-Bahn. In the north of Stuttgart, there’s the Zuffenhausen Forest Climbing Park and the Bergheide Activity Park.
